Terms Of Use

Purplemoon tries to be a peaceful, enjoyable and trustworthy place where you can find new friends and keep in touch with existing friends. The following rules and regulations form the foundation for that idea.

Fundamentals

  • Last changes and scope

    • These terms of use were last changed on and are valid for Purplestar and Purplemoon, which together form one online community (in the following text "Purplemoon" is used to refer to both "Purplestar" and "Purplemoon").
  • Prerequisites for registration

    • Purplemoon can be used free of charge and every natural person who is at least 13 years old can register. Only one profile per person is allowed. The Profile must contain a valid e-mail address at all times. Registration on Purplemoon and use of our services is only permitted if these terms of use and our privacy policy were accepted.
  • Type and extent of our services

    • What types of services we provide and to what extent can change at any time, new services can be added and some or all services can be discontinued. An entitlement to use our services does not exist, and we reserve the rights to exclude people from our services without justification.
  • Contents on Purplemoon

    • All texts, graphics and any other contents on Purplemoon may not be downloaded, copied, distributed or in any other way used without the explicit permission of Purplemoon.
  • Violation of these terms of use

    • When these terms of use are violated Purplemoon is permitted to warn the user, delete the contents in question, exclude the user from parts of Purplemoon or completely forbit the use of any of our services.
  • Changes to the terms of use

    • If Purplemoon changes these terms of use a note will be published on the start page (only visible when logged in) and the new terms of use will take effect 30 days later for existing users. Within the 30 days the user can object to the changes by deleting his profile. If he has not deleted the profile after 30 days he automatically agrees to the changes.

Code of conduct

  • Nobody should suffer or be harmed

    • Our highest principle is for users to treat each other with respect - this entails that nobody is threatened, insulted, harassed or in any way harmed or damaged. It also means that users do not call on others to do any harm.
  • Honesty, personal information

    • All information you provide on Purplemoon (almost all of it voluntarily) must be the truth. If we suspect users to be untruthful we can demand a confirmation of the identity of the user or a confirmation of the information in question. Until the matter is resolved we usually restrict or disable the account.
    • Contact information like phone numbers or addresses may not be published unless a possibility to enter such information is provided by Purplemoon. Personal information of third parties must never be published in any form.
  • Making a pass at someone - no harassment

    • Advances which overly hassle or harass other users, e.g. to get specific information or to arrange a meeting, are not acceptable. Included in that are attempts to search for mere sexual encounters or to plainly ask for contact information without knowing the person - if users are feeling harassed by that behavior. Especially when one user hassles other users again and again in such a way we view that as explicit harassment.
  • Protection of minors and offensive content

    • Purplemoon is accessible to adolescent users of 13 years and older which permits publishing any pornographic or otherwise overly offensive material - e.g. the (detailed) depictions of sexual proclivities, stories about sexual encouters or any other contents which are unsuitable for minors.
  • Advertising and spam

    • Every kind of advertising or mass propagation of almost identical contents over Purplemoon are generally prohibited, unless specifically allowed by Purplemoon.
  • Technical infrastructure and impairment of Purplemoon

    • The technical infrastructure or any other parts of Purplemoon may not be impaired and security measures may not be circumvented - even attempts to do so are forbidden, aswell as any potentially damaging behavior which affects Purplemoon.
  • External links must correspond the rules too

    • All our rules also apply to external links which are published through Purplemoon, and their contents. Every user should therefore check the links he publishes.
  • Detailed rules for parts of Purplemoon

    • For certain parts/components of Purplemoon, like pictures or forum posts, we have established more detailed rules to clarify what is acceptable and what is not. These detailed rules are just as binding as this code of conduct and can be adjusted at any time.
  • I am not sure if something is against the rules...

    • Just contact us if you have any doubts about some contents or behaviors - we will provide you with an answer as soon as we can.

Power-User

  • Definition

    • Power-User is an additional service on Purplemoon for which we charge a fee. As Power-User some additional features can be used. This service is completely voluntarily, Purplemoon can be used free of charge.
  • Extent of services

    • The additional features available to a Power-User can be found on our information page for the service, Purplemoon can make changes to the details of the service at any time. If the provided features should greatly deteriorate or be discontinued entirely the user has a right to get a refund for the remaining time period.
  • Payment and activation

    • All fees for becoming a Power-User must be payed in advance - the prices can be found on the information page of the service and may be adjusted at any time.
  • Refund and transfer

    • We grant no refunds on already paid fees and cannot transfer the service from one profile to another. When a profile is deleted (by the user or by us because the terms of use were violated) no refund is possible either.
  • Availability

    • Purplemoon provides the service to the best of its abilities yet cannot guarantee to be available or accessible all the time. If there is a longer outage (more than half a day) the unusable time period is compensated for all Power-Users.
