Forum rules
Purplemoon tries to be a peaceful, enjoyable and trustworthy place where you can find new friends and keep in touch with existing friends. The following rules and regulations form the foundation for that idea.
The following list details the most common reasons why forum posts are deleted or restriced and are based on our code of conduct.
-
Insults and defamations in the post
-
Abusive language
Terms like moron, asshole, slut or wisenheimer if they are used to debase someone and are meant seriously (not just in good fun between friends). -
Denouncing statements
If the ethnic or social worth of someone is denounced or there is an attempt to humiliate someone with a statement (examples: "You need a shrink", "You must be out of your mind", "I pity you", "Just be quiet", "X is stupid/fat/worthless"). -
Defamation
If factual claims are made or spread which can denounce someone's public image and cannot proven to be true (e.g. allegations of criminal offenses - like fraud or sexual offenses - or physical or mental deficits; plain supposition usually does not count, factual claims have to be made). -
Possible victims of insults
Living or dead people, juristic persons (companys, unions, associations) and other restricted and distinguishable groups of people.
-
-
Threats in the post
-
Intimidation
If a specific person is threatened with violence, or if a threat is made to wreck someone or that the person should watch their back etc. -
Exceptions
Threating someone with legal measures does not count as a "threat", nor would threating a user with personal consequences (e.g. ending a friendship or breaking of any contact, losing respect etc.).
-
-
Advertising in post
-
Links to external page
Invitations to visit another website to register, buy something, take part in a lottery/sweepstake or to use a contact form. If the advertising fits in the group or the topic (e.g. in a group about Ikea products a link to an Ikea offer is posted, and the offer actually exists) then it does not count as advertising. -
Deception about links
Induce users to click on a link when something totally different than promised (or just something unexpected) appears on the external website.
-
-
Contact data/personal details in post
-
Immediate contact possibility
Phone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses or other information on how to directly contact a person (including oneself). -
Addresses
Adresses of private individuals are contained in the post. -
Other personal details
Personal information about a third party is published, e.g. place of work.
-
-
Discussion does not fit in group
-
No relation to the topic of the group
If, for example, a discussion about a political topic is started in a group about tv series, and the new discussion has nothing to do with the group topic "tv series".
-
-
Post has no contents or does not make any sense
-
Quotes only
If past posts are quoted without adding anything new. Exceptions: A question is answered with the quotation or the new post is accidentally written as a quote (or inside a quote). -
Gibberish
Forming words or sentences which do not make any sense (according to the discussion), e.g. "d89wekdadslk", "bbbbbbbbb" or "ha fu tse bo". -
Text parts without context
The text of the post does not have the slightest semblance with the rest of the discussion or just adds words and sentences at random and with no context to the discussion.
-
-
Duplicate post or duplicate discussion
-
Duplicate discussion
If an (older) discussion to the exact same topic already exists which is still open and active. -
Duplicate post
If inside the discussion the same post appears several times - in that case the newer post must be deleted.
-
-
Post is not appropriate for minors
-
Sexual contacts
The post mainly depicts sexual experiences (in detail) or is geared toward establishing or facilitating sexual contacts. -
Other offensive contents

-
-
Political extremism in post
-
Propagating damage or harm

Legitimization of violence
The post expresses directly or indirectly that certain people or groups deserve violence, e.g. criminal offenses against people or groups are deemed as just. -
Rassism (and other -isms)
If the worth of complete races, peoples or other groups are judged to be inferior, or they are judged in another disparaging way (e.g. "All Jews are greedy." or "Gays deserve to die.") - personal experiences do not count (e.g. "Every Swiss I know is greedy."). -
